Rising Sun Martial Arts began as a small club with a simple aim: to create a place where people could train seriously, be treated with respect, and grow through martial arts. In our early days, we were a handful of students training together with shared curiosity and commitment. What mattered most then still matters now; showing up, putting in the work, and supporting the people beside you.

Today, Rising Sun Martial Arts has grown into a diverse and welcoming community offering training in Zen Do Kai Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Krav Maga. While our numbers have grown, our purpose has remained the same. We are not a factory, a franchise, or a belt-mill. We are a club built on relationships, accountability, and long-term development.

Our values are simple but essential. We believe in integrity: doing the right thing even when it is difficult. We value discipline, humility, and personal responsibility. We believe martial arts should make people more capable, not more aggressive; more confident, not arrogant. Rank and skill matter, but character matters more.

We believe that training should reduce suffering physically, mentally, and socially. Martial arts are tools for resilience, self-control, and service to others. Whether someone trains for fitness, self-defence, competition, or personal growth, our role as instructors is to guide, not dominate; to challenge, not belittle; and to hold standards without losing compassion.

Rising Sun Martial Arts exists to help people become stronger, calmer, and more capable versions of themselves in Redbank Plains and the surrounding community, on the mats and beyond them. We are proud of where we started, intentional about who we are now, and committed to building a community that stands for something meaningful.
